Zondell Morris, a teacher at Palm Beach Lakes Community High School, was recently named Teacher of the Year by Junior Achievement of the Palm Beaches and Treasure Coast. She has demonstrated her passion for teaching through the use of Junior Achievement’s programs.

One example is the High School Heroes program which provides high school students the opportunity to become role models by teaching and inspiring elementary students.

An elementary school teacher is matched with a team of Junior Achievement High School Heroes who spend an entire day with the same class.

As the teacher for the day, high school students teach a series of five fun and interactive lessons. Ms. Morris has facilitated many High School Hero students throughout the year, creating a beneficial opportunity for her students.

Her efforts have helped her students flourish into leaders of tomorrow. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Organizational Management from Palm Beach Atlantic University and has been a teacher in the School District since 2007. Ms. Morris will be honored at Junior Achievement’s Hall of Fame Gala on February 9 at the Kravis Center in West Palm Beach.
